The procedure in thermographic of electrical cabinets is reviewed. Typical faults are reviewed and important thermographic conditions in the electrical panel are demonstrated using examples. Also included are guidelines for temperature and assessment of faults. Since electrical thermography is conducted while operating the electrical panels, it is associated with safety risks which are also shown.Safety regulations in EN 50 110 "Operation of electrical installations. " must be taken into account.
Experience with electrical installations
There are two aspects to performing electrical thermography: Understanding of thermography and experience with electrical installations and the installation material. Knowledge of components and legislation within the installation area are important prerequisites for performing a professional job when electrical thermography is carried out. In this course some typical mistakes are shown and through the thermography course series, a professional can be trained to perform electrical thermography.
