Insulation Course

Insulation tests are reviewed with use of the different voltage levels: 250, 500 and 1000V. How insulation testers work, including correct measurement and results. Classification of electrical equipment is discussed and test of appliance are made. The difference between functional ground and protective ground is explained. Visual inspection is an important part of an insulation test, which in some cases is sufficient for the insulation test. Verification of electrical installations according to HD 60364-6 are reviewed.

Who should do the Insulation test?

Insulation testing is part of electrical safety

It's not only the electrician performing installations who needs to check/perform insulation tests. Many devices/equipment used in the workplace require regular insulation testing.

Test according to 60364-6 Verification section 6.

To comply with the standard you need to remember: RCD test, Short circuit current and to secure the connections to ground with a continuity test in addition to the insulation test.
