Case: Basic relay protection of a wind turbine park, course description

The course is built around a small wind turbine park that is connected to the public power grid. The basic protection principles from the wind turbine, cables, switchgear, and transformer protection are shown. Basic system considerations and electrical technical aspects that must be considered during the construction of relay protection in an electrical grid.

The focus of the course is to provide the basic understanding of which and when the different types of relay protection are used. The course does not focus on calculating actual power values. Instead, it explains the situations that must be considered to prevent unintended disconnections.
